Acupuncture is more a case of pinpointing and activating certain energy centres of the body producing a state of health and wellbeing, it is not like getting a needle. I’m a big baby and got acupuncture. It was an interesting experience. It does wear off, evidently, but enjoy it while you can.

Acupuncture needles do not leave permanent scarring or marks. Some people will on rare occasion get the redness of a histamine reaction for up to an hour after the treatment ends. There is also always a chance of a bruise forming at the site of a needle insertion. Again, this is a rare occurrence.
